Great upgrade to a stock stereo

I just had these installed in a 2011 Ford Edge. The factory speakers sounded awful - no midrange to speak of, and very little bass. I chose these Infinities as a stopgap measure in a plan to incrementally upgrade the factory stereo system. Much to my delight, these speakers sound awesome! The bass response is far better than stock, and I now have midrange (presence.) In fact, I may elect not to do further upgrades at all. I chose the Infinities because of the brand reputation and specs: rated 4ohms and 93dBs sensitivity, resulting in louder sound output using the same factory amps. I wasn't expecting such a huge change in the sound quality overall, but it is striking how everything has changed for the better. Upgrading speakers is probably the most cost-efficent way to make a factory system sound better. After examining the Ford factory speakers that were removed, you can tell why - their construction and materials are way, way cheap. The coaxs in front have PLASTIC speaker baskets and paper cones, while the rears are 1-way. Buy these speakers if you want to upgrade a Ford factory system - you will not be disappointed.Note: I listen to alternative music for the most part, and the bass response is quite sufficient. If you like rap, you will probably want to add a subwoofer.

very nice for the money

I ordered a set of these and also installed some polk db571's in my Excursion. Generally the build qaulity and sound of the Infinity's is better, and they were the cheaper speaker. I already had the 571's or I would have just gone with all 6832's in all 6 locations.

Replace my 2011 Mustang GT speakers with these

The factory Shaker door speakers are a joke and I read on a mustang forum about these Infinity speakers. For the price you cant beat them and are a huge improvement over the OEM speakers. I would highly recommend these to any one looking for a good inexpensive upgrade. I installed them myself with little hassle.

Awsome Sub

I got a great deal on this subwoofer. i used this to replace a 10 year old jensen sub in my dodge durango. I was blown away by the difference. The jensen sounded good, untill I put this Rockford in. I just have one, in a sealed box, in the back of a durango, and it still hits hard as a rock. The bass is tight, clear, and zero distortion. For reference, im powering it with a small kenwood amp (kac5204) it rates at the same watts as this sub, and its the perfect combo. If u want a reliable tight sounding sub, this is the one.UPDATE:: WOW, i got this sub for 32 dollars, now its 99? go to crutchfield its only 79 there.

BUYER BEWARE!these grill covers are great for speakers that are mounted right into the speaker box but if your subs sit a bit out of the box like my alpine type x then this grill will not work for you.it is a good grilli just couldnt use itif i had speakers that were shallow mount or speakers that i didnt expect to come out so much as they were bumping then this would be perfect for meso to be clear. if this speaker grill meets your specific needs like a low profile speaker then this is the speaker grill for you. but if you are trying to cover quality subs....

Perfect replacement speakers for Honda GL1200 motorcycles.

After looking at many different 4" speakers while seeking a replacement for the original speakers on my Honda GL1200A motorcycle, I selected the Polk Audio db401s. The specs are far superior to the original paper-cone speakers, and they are two-way speakers as opposed to the single-cone design of the originals. Finally, these are marine-certified speakers and so should resist rain better if the motorcycle ever gets caught out in the rain. Note that these speakers will directly replace the original Honda speakers in both the front as well as the rear of Honda Gold Wing GL1200s that are equipped with rear speakers. After you remove the motorcycle's speaker grilles, they mount easily and although they will be a tight fit, they will fit in the existing opening.Upon opening the box, with a visual inspection it is apparent that these speakers are of high quality and well-manufactured, and have a very attractive appearance as speakers go, not that it matters that much since they will be covered by the Honda speaker grilles, but they are obviously of much better quality than the average 4" speaker.When installing in a GL1200, after you remove the Honda speaker grilles the old speakers are are exposed and simply held in with four screws. Use a phillips screwdriver to remove the four screws and the speaker just pulls out. Don't remove the Honda trim rings, leave them in place.There are only two wires to connect, positive and negative, and it is very easy to tell which is which, the positive terminal is the larger one and the negative the smaller one, nothing to it. You will probably have to squeeze the speaker connectors down tighter on the terminals with pliers and that will be the most difficult thing you will have to do. Insert the speakers in the opening, the holes will line up perfectly, and reinstall the four screws on each side. I thought I would have to bend or flatten down the tweeter to get the grilles to go back on, but I didn't need to - it will be a tight fit but they WILL fit. You won't need the silver Polk Audio grilles when installing these in a Honda GL1200, but you may need the Polk Audio grilles for other applications. Reinstall the Honda speaker grilles (or Polk Audio grilles for other motorcycles or cars) and you are ready to listen.Soundwise, the Polk Audio db401s represent a noticeable improvement over the oem single-paper-cone originals. They don't offer a lot in the way of bass, but do offer some bass improvement since they are new, modern technology, marine-grade speakers replacing aged old-technology paper-cone speakers. The quality and tone of both midrange and highs are much-improved over stock, and overall sound clarity is much-improved. I am convinced that the Polk Audio db401s are the best replacement speaker you can buy for the Honda GL1200 motorcycle, and they are also reported to be a great replacement for Honda GL500 Silverwing speakers, and would also make great replacements for other motorcycles (and cars) requiring 4" speakers. If you need a 4" speaker you should definitely consider these, they sound great and installation is easy - I highly recommend them.

Front Speakers 1999 audi a4

Speakers came quickly in very nice small packaging. Bought these to replace blown front door speakers in my 1999 audi a4. Amazon.com price beats Crutchfield.com price by about $20 bucks. Speaker installation took about 30 minutes since my brother is a Audi technician. Speakers went in and mounted smoothly. Sound performance was awesome, speakers have a very sharp, defined sound to them. Bass is also solid for most music types. Overall I'm satisfied with these speakers. I recently ordered the 6.5inch speakers that are similar to these for the rear panel. Polk makes a well manufactured speaker that sounds awesome and will last for years to come. For less than $120 bucks my audi will have a polk sound system that surpasses sound systems triple the price, I highly recommend Polk. -Tyler

Great find

I was looking for either a center channel mid-woofer or a set for the doors, what I was expecting when I ordered this was that there were 2 mid-woofers, when in fact if you read carefully it is not plural and only implies there is one, so if you want 2, make sure you order two. I always get confused when people put the picture up that looks like 2 speakers, when in reality it is just a picture of the front and back of the same speaker. Either way, it sounds great and handles the load of the amplifier I have it attached to. It works great especially considering I have never heard of Pyle audio beofore. I may buy some more stuff from them just to check it out.

Excellent to replace in a stock speaker location!

The Pyle PLG-64 does come as a SINGLE unit. meaning if you want to do more than one speaker, order the number you need.I ordered 2 of these and replaced the worn out (more like blown out) rear speakers of my 1999 Dodge Dakota that has the Infinity sound system. Couldn't be happier! The little woofers delivered a well rounded sound for my trucks cab, and complemented the front Pyle 4-way speakers I have previously ordered perfectly! In a truck cab like mine (Club Cab, or Extended Cab), you do not need massive units, and unless you feel like ripping the back bench out, you are not getting anything bigger in there, unless you do some serious work. These on the other hand, fit in the stock rear speaker locations, with the only modification being I had to drill 4 holes to put the screws through. Although these woofers do NOT come with screws either, a trip to the hardware store and spending another $1.50 at most is not a huge amount to spend.The sound quality is perfect for me. I don't listen to heavily bass driven music, and even being a bit of a sound-Nazi and a bass player myself, TOO MUCH BASS IS A STUPID THING (sound-theorists will agree)!!!! Unless you like the feeling of your sphincter being jostled when you listen to music, then don't bother getting these. They can handle the max-volume, and as I stated earlier, being matched with the Pyle 4-ways up front, delivers a well balanced sound. They do not transmit any extra sound or static, which keeps any and all interference from keeping you from enjoying your music. If you have a head unit that allows you to adjust the EQ-levels, because these are mid-bass woofers, you will not that you can adjust the mid-range so much more than you normally can. Since most of our music we listen to is dictated by the mid-range, this equates to a better sound.For the price, you cannot go wrong!

I Like the speakers a lot the only thing is you need to get an amp to bring out the bass in the speakers. Sound great but you get more bass from an Amp with these. Would recommend because the Price is right. Beware when you order you only get one.
