Kenwood KMR-350U Marine CD receiver with USB & AUX terminal on the Front

Product Description

Kenwood built the KMR-350U marine receiver to stand up to the tough environment you encounter on a boat, with a conformal-coated circuit board that helps prevents moisture from sending your receiver to an early grave. But it's also built to handle all the latest media options so you can relax and enjoy your time on the water. And, if you're installing the KMR-350U in an out-of-the-way spot, a Kenwood wired marine remote (not included) allows you to control it from the helm.

4So far, so good!
By MelanieL
Despite the complete lack of reviews on the internet, we decided this Kenwood receiver would be perfect for our boat. We were looking for a marine receiver with a front USB drive that didn't look incredibly cheap and was easy to use, all for a reasonable (i. e. less than $200) price. This Kenwood KMR-350 receiver definitely fulfills all those requirements. The product arrived well-packaged in its original box, and the box also includes easy-to-read instructions and a wiring harness. My husband actually installed the receiver in our boat, which took all of about 60 minutes. This time frame also included installation of our 2 Polk dbi 4" marine speakers and running new wire from the receiver to the speakers. The whole setup sounds very respectable, particularly for merely (2) 4" speakers. The receiver itself includes a CD player that also reads MP3 CDs, front facing USB and AUX ports (an integral plastic cover is attached so that you can cover the ports from the elements when they're not in use), a radio, and Ipod and Pandora compatibility. Thus far, we have only used the CD player and USB player for the Ipod, but both work well. The CD player has been able to read a CD that I frequently have trouble with in my own car. The Ipod compatibility will allow you to either control the Ipod through the stereo, or directly through the Ipod, and its very easy to switch back and forth. The volume of the receiver has a nice range - it can be cranked halfway, and we'll still be able to hear the music even speeding over the water with our outboard engine just a few feet away. Naturally, its also soft enough not to interfere with our fishing or conversation. However, don't take the word of just my review - go see for yourself! That's what we did - the radio was on display at our local Bass Pro, so we checked it out prior to buying the receiver from Amazon. In sum, it looks decent, Kenwood is a respectable name so we feel like we've gotten a reliable product, and the front-face USB ports are almost impossible to find on a well-known brand-name receiver in the $100 price range.

5Love it - No Complaints!
By DLK
It took a little time and thinking to replace the old one with this new Kenwood KMR-350U but once the job was done, it's been great. Reception is good; sound is good - can't complain about anything. We didn't get the remote which we are seriously considering. It would be handy for turning the volume up and down as the speed of the boat changes, the volume needs to as well. Overall, it is a great stero for a reasonable price.

5Great unit.
By ss
Installed it today with a couple sets of Bazooka Marine speakers and it sounds awesome. Love the iphone/ipod/Pandora controls, work perfectly with my iphone 4. Plug it in with the standard usb cord and you can control your iphone/ipod music at the unit and leave the phone tucked away out of the sun/weather. Scrolls through your music by playlist, artist, etc. just like in the ipod. Or if you want to control from the iphone/ipod, switch it with a push of the ipod button on the unit. Pandora radio same thing. Plus it charges the iphone while it is connected. Another cool feature is each input (tuner, ipod, cd..) has its own sound settings (bass, treble, EQ, etc.) so once you get them all dialed in, when you go from the weak radio signal to ipod you don't have to re-adjust everything. I paid $109, which I think is cheap for a unit with this many features. Now its $103??? Buy it. Hope it lasts! The 14 year old Kenwood I replaced with it still works after being soaked about 100 times, so I'm not too worried...
