Nice bang for the buck!

Pros: very clean nice looks for the price, good sound for the money, and over all good stats for a sub in this price range.Cons: Do not buy these if you have a powerful amp and want insane bass. These were used for a home set up that only has 100watts RMS going to them, and they hit very hard and are very clean with no distortion. That tells me that if you plan to throw a steady 400+ watts RMS at them, they will most likely distort and melt. They need a larger box to be able to hit low notes from what I have seen, so I cannot recommend them for a compact truck style subwoofer box or they will have a very boomy tone and will lack low frequency excursion.Lanzar lists this speakers full statistics on their website, and this is definitely a good speaker for how little it costs. I would make sure you have the right amplifier and box set up to get the same performance from them I was able to get.For someone wanting good looks, these have a very nice look if you mount them inverted(the magnet structure on the outside of the box). They have decent frequency response and seem to have quite good efficiency. This leads me to give them a 5 star rating.

Great lil sub

I built adapters to mount these to the 6.5" holes in the rear deck of my car. Operating as a subwoofer, these sound FANTASTIC!!! Excellent sound quality! These support the bottom end, even provide a modest thump. Con, these are only capable of a modest thump (how i used them anyway). If you want BIG bass output, look for something more. Also, one of these blew fairly quickly when i obstructed the coil vent when transporting cargo I had to jam under-neath the speaker to fit. I believe it would still be working if I hadn't blocked the vent. Ugh!!! I've since upgraded to some bigger woofers anyway.

Great Component Set

Installed in a 2004 Taurus in the front doors. I flush-mounted the tweeters in the triangle-shaped A-pillar cap by the side mirror. Used a 1 7/8" forestner bit to make perfect holes in the plastic. Looks super slick. Sound was clear and sharp, but distorted easily at first, even powered only by the factory HU. After about eight hours' listening time, however, the highs were more defined and natural, the mids bloomed into a rich fullness, and the bass is pretty good for their size, but I have a twelve in the trunk so I got these for the sound quality, not bump-ability. Awesome set of speaks, worth the price. Comes with an adapter plate for 6x8 locations, which I used, and I put the crossovers inside the door. Comes with everything but speaker wire. Intermediate automotive audio skills required. Tested with Outkast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, Dave Mathew's Band's Before These Crowded Streets, and Alice in Chains' Jar of Flies. The hip-hop sounds slick but breaks up fast due to scooped eq'ing in the mix. The Alice in Chains is very good quality, but the DMB record sounds the best. Also tried Steely Dan, various tracks with studio monitor-like accuracy in my car. Awesome!

Amazing!

I purchased these speakers for the front doors on my Audi S4. The crossovers fit in the door nicely and the tweeters mounted in the stock location by the door handle. Worked like a charm. As far as sound quality goes I love these speakers/components. I don't run them off of my head unit so I can't attest to how they will sound off of ~22watts RMS (give or take). But I can tell you they sound excellent running off of 70watts RMS coming from a JL Audio four channel amp. I hate hearing someones audio system who just bought a pair of 12" subs and a cheapo amp doing nothing for the end of the spectrum above 100hz. You get that splatty distortion of the actual music. So what if your mirror shakes? These sing crisp and clear...and yes...loud to the point I fear my ears may bleed. I would recommend these to anyone who is going to use an amplifier to power them.

Great speakers.

I installed these components in my 2002 acura rsx type s. The mounts needed a little modification, but that's not the speakers fault it is my cars funky design. Not to mention the build quality is much more superior then my old stock bose.I have 50W at 4 0hms going to each one and they sound great. I wanted to go a little higher but I am very satisfied with how they sound. There isn't much bass, but I have not dynomated my doors yet and that is what a sub is for anyways.For fewer then 100 bucks they are defenetly worth it.

Great Sub for the price

This is a great sub for the price point. Was going to get the P3 but went against. Still wish that i had the extra money for it at the time but with this speaker it is still very good. SOund is amazing and hits very hard when you want it to. I have a fosgate amp so i just keep the gain at 9-11 and then change the punch from the amp to decide how much bass i want. This allows me to have lower bas for sounds that dont need it and then turn it all the way up when i want to rock the car next to me.If i had the chance to buy this again I most definetly would because it is an all around great sub and doesnt break the bank.

I got this sub and put it to a 2000 watt amp and its great!! i put it in my 97 chevy pickup and its super loud and has deep bass, have it in a ported box. you can hear me comin down the street from a mile away. i also have 2 12 p2's but right now i just have the 15 hooked up and its loud enough. this is well worth the price!!

Not recommended for use in a motor vehicle.

This radio is unsuitable for use in a motor vehicle, as far as I can tell. I went through TWO of them, and both of them SHUT THEMSELVES OFF and FORGET EVERYTHING in the presence of ANY electrical noise. Since the intended application is Marine, one would think that this radio would be at least as robust as a CAR radio, but it's much, much, worse. DO NOT BUY THIS RADIO unless you are confident that you have a VERY LOW NOISE electrical environment. (My qualifications: Masters in Electrical Engineering from Cornell and many many years working with vehicle electrical systems.) I'd give zero stars but Amazon won't let you give less than one star.

Made the Pontoon much...louder

Our pontoon boat came with some standard, factory installed speakers, but they were hardly loud enough to be heard over the motor, so we decided to buy these 5.25 inchers. Our family has really noticed the difference. With 100 watts of peak power it's almost like we can't here the boat's motor anymore. As an added benefit, these speakers were easy to install, and they're made of white plastic, which goes well with most boats' interiors. We actually drove through a large wake after a speed boat cut us off, too, and the speakers got wet...but they still seem to be working just fine.

A whizzer speaker

These speakers have a very small magnet and not much weight to them. They remind me a lot of the old whizzer cone speakers you would get factory in cars. They are tinny and do not play into lower octaves very well. They are very reasonably priced and do make noise but there are a lot better speakers out there.
