By Vaughn Seavey
As my title states, this is a TWO channel amp.I own several Boss products. From car stereos, amps and speakers. These items have performed well and are very reasonably priced. This amp is very attractive and works really well. It is very easy to install and adjust but ONLY IF you have the correct user manual. The manual is absolutely mandatory to correctly connect the wires and especially to make the many adjustments for the best possible sound quality. This time I ran into a few problems. First, the user manual included was for a different model. No problem, I'll download one from Boss Support site. The "Phantom" models are current models and shown on their June, 2011 products page.I find the Boss Support page. Under the heading "Downloads", in the search box, I type "PH2.1300". Guess what? The answer I get is that there is "no such model" and the search returned NO "hits".I go back to the "Download" section and locate a listing of supposedly Boss products. I click on "Amps" and scroll through hundreds of models. NO PH2.1300.In fact, there are NO PH (Phantom) models listed at all.No problem, I will email Tech support and get a new manual. Guess what? There is NO email address for Tech Support. There is a phone number but I am allergic to being on HOLD.No problem, I'll Google the user manual and find a place to download it. Absolutely NO sites. Maybe because Boss doesn't have one available?I was able to find an email address for the sales department and I sent an email addressing all of these issues.I will update when (IF) I get a reply.UPDATE:It has now been two weeks and again NO response from BOSS. I now understand why the website is so screwed up.The people who work at BOSS are lacking the ability to supply a simple user manual or the the social graces to even reply to an email inquiry. If you are investing in electronics, go to a company that cares about their product and their customers.Stay away fro BOSS. Cheap is as cheap does.
