Product Description
This tiny amplifier packs a serious full-range punch, delivering a staggering 100 watts to each of its four channels into 2 ohms (14.4V, 1% THD). The breakthrough that makes this much power possible in such a small chassis is our NexDTM ultra-high-speed switching design, which allows for full bandwidth Class D operation with extremely low distortion and outstanding efficiency.
Use the XD400/4 in combination with our XD600/1 monoblock to build a 1000 W amplification system to power four satellites and a subwoofer... and fit the whole thing under a seat. Or, use the XD400/4 by itself to power two satellites, plus a subwoofer. With XD's, the possibilities are endless.
The XD400/4 includes a 12 dB / octave filter for each channel bank, which can be configured as a low-pass or high-pass filter and offers continuously variable cutoff frequency selection from 50-500 Hz. With the addition of an HD-RLC remote level control (sold separately), the amplifier's Ch. 1 & 2 level or overall level can be directly controlled from the driver's seat.
This amplifier features a black powder-coat finish and a gasketed, brushed aluminum cover for the controls.

I bought this amp to power a pair of Polk 6.5" component speakers and a JL Audio 8" sub in my 2011 Honda CR-V. The amp is fed with the output from an Audiocontrol 2-channel line output converter. The amp is very small (slightly wider than a dollar bill) and fits underneath the driver's seat with plenty of room to spare. The amp is extremely well built, impeccably finished, and has alot of great design details. All the wires are secured with allen screws which allows you to tighten them down more strongly without possible stripping of the screw heads as you do with common flat/phillips screw heads. The amp controls are hidden underneath a cover and that the wire connections are all on one side. In my application, all this makes for a VERY clean looking install with no visible wires. The amp also has alot of adjustment switches to make it very flexible in terms of connectivity. The low and high pass filters have defined indentations to allow for precise setting of cutoff frequencies. I bridged two of the channels to power the 8" sub.The amp seems to power the speakers/sub effortlessly with no audible noise or distortion. I can crank up the volume so loud that it is uncomfortable for me to listen to but the amp still puts out clean sound. It is quite pricey, but well worth the cost. TMK, it is one of the smallest amps on the market that puts out this much power. Overall, a very great purchase!

This amp is great. I first bought a rockford fosgate p400-4 to run my speakers (5.25 in component focals access in front and 6.5 coax focals access in back) and it worked well, but I am more of a signal quality type person. I replaced it with this amp, wow what a difference. This amp has much better signal quality, just look at the signal to noise ratio and you will see this JL amp is better than many that cost $1,000 or more. At 4 ohm by 4 channels at 75 watts rms this thing is also more powerful than the fosgate. I know many say the fosgate is underrated powerwise, but the JL amp is noticeably more powerful in my car. I was surprised that a class D amp could be so smooth.

This amp exceeds all expectations. I have this running two pairs JL C-5's with a Pioneer AVH-4200 head unit and it sounds amazing. It takes up no room in my trunk and does not get hot. Don't be fooled by the size. The sound quality rivals my Pioneer Elite home theater receiver. JL makes another spectacular 4 channel amp. Everyone knows you get what you pay for in this industry, this is a best amp for the price.
