This is a well-made sub which I think is a good value. I'm powering it with the voice coils in parallel, thus presenting a 2 ohm load to my amp. The amp is rated at 250 watts RMS into a 2 ohm load, and it does a good job of controlling the sub in both boomy hip-hop passages as well as in the metal and hard rock I usually listen to. It's installed in a relatively small trapezoidal (slanted front) side-ported box located in my trunk. The instructions which come with the sub are well-written, and have very accurate measurements for using both in cutting the hole for the speaker and in designing a sub box (within a range; they list both "loudest" and "best sound quality" configurations, in both ported and sealed).With that said, this is MB Quart's "value line". It can generate good bass for pretty loud listening levels, but you're not going to rattle the windows out of the car next to you using this speaker and the small amp it requires; if you're looking for huge boom, you will need to spend more money. Much like anything else, you get what you pay for. And what you're paying for here is a very good quality *budget* subwoofer. If you're working within a restricted budget and need something which only takes about 1 cubic foot of box volume and a relatively little amp to generate pretty good sound levels, this is definitely the way to go, though.

I love these speakers. They look nice and sound great. Now as stated in other reviews you will not be heard down the street coming, but in your car and in close proximity you sound very nice. The bass is tight and the lows are good as well. I two have them wired in series at 400watts rms in a sealed box and I am VERY PLEASED. Anyone who wants a nice sound in the car and not worried about SPL, then this is absolutely the sub for you. Plus you can not beat the price they are asking.

I installed it on a vented box, using 200 rms, and it last 1 week.Go for something with higher value.
